Matt Horne's East London pub guide
Matt Horne as Gavin, spends a lot of time in the pub with his best mate Smithy. When we spoke to him he let us know the best pubs in his area to have a pint in.
We had a chat with Matt and he let us know some of his usual hangout in east London. Maybe you should check a few of them out? You never know, you could bump in to him!
The Macbeth down Hoxton Street is a great place to hang out. It's got a pool table and often has live music playing. It's hidden away a little so you won't find the usual Hoxton idiots in there. The staff are quite friendly too.
Another great boozer is the Horse and Groom on Curtain Road. It's just off Hoxton Square so it does get some of the trendies in there but for a quite pint on a week night, it's ideal. This is another pub that does do music too, which is sometimes worth checking out.
East London definitely has the best pubs around and another great one is The Griffin just off Great Eastern Street. It's popular with the locals and has a really chilled out atmosphere. Great for catching up with mates.
You can't really talk about east London pubs without mentioning The Old Blue Last. As long as it's not hired out for a private party, it's certainly the post popular of the pubs around here. Alexa Chung can be seen cruising around as well as some other famous faces. As a pub though, it's great. Relaxed, friendly staff and easy to roll home from.
Victoria Park in E9 isn't really a place non locals will be seen, which is probably why this pub is so great. The Royal Inn serves good beers at good prices. Gavin would surely like to have a pint here.
