Your Clubbing guide The best dance club nights in London
Des Paul recommends
Get ready to party hard in November. Here are my club night recommendations for the next few weeks. Get your weekend sorted.
Public Life
The Shoreditch club, Public Life , started out as a public toilet and continues to serve the masses of happy clubbers but these days with funky tunes instead of funky fumes.
Charterhouse
This one pretty much does what it says on the tin, providing an ideal location for like-minded, house loving party-goers to gather.
AKA
If you are planning a night out here, it should be a good one. Great club with a close vibe that is for clubbers who love to party.
East end boozers Matt Horne's east end boozers
Matt Horne's East London pub guide
Matt Horne of 'Gavin and Stacy' can often be found in an east London pub. We had a chat with him and asked about his top boozers.
The Griffin
It's popular with the locals and has a really chilled out atmosphere. Great for catching up with mates.
The Royal Inn
E9's secret gem. A pub you can be proud to drink in, we're pretty sure that Gavin and Smithy would have a few here.
The Horse and Groom
Another great boozer is the Horse and Groom on Curtain Road. It's just off Hoxton Square so it does get some of the trendies in there but for a quiet pint on a week night, it's ideal.
The Macbeth
Dark and dingy - like a good eat end pub should be and some great local bands play here too.
Sex in the City The ultimate first date in London
Conquering the first date
Become a dating expert and win them over first time with this fool proof guide to dating in London.
Hand in Hand
This great pub in Wimbledon is fantastic for dates as it has a picturesque setting and shows you know the hidden gems in all parts of London.
Sosho
This great bar has a cocktail menu tat inspires cocktails and will leave any date so impressed they'll be putty in your hands.
The Good Mixer
This pub ticks all the boxes; central enough so it's easy to get to, pool table if the conversation runs dry and loads of seats so your not hanging around the bar.
Happy Hour The happiest hour in town
Smollensky's on the Strand
Indeed it is very happy at Smollensky's every day of the week between 5pm and 7pm. Cocktails start from £3.50 and all beer is 2-4-1. Not bad is what we say.
The Garden Ladder
This place is pretty quite until happy hour hits. Between 4.30 and 6.30 week nights you can get selected pints for £2. What a bargain!
William IV
Happy hour on a Friday? It seems unheard of but until 8pm on Fridays you can get cheap drinks at William IV and on Sundays you can get 3 for 2 on Tapas. So who's round is it?
Maxwell's
This all American restaurant has a happy hour from 5.30pm until 8.30pm everyday. Cocktails are from £2.95 and if you don't see what you want on the menu, just ask the bartender to rustle one up for you.
Cuba Libre and Bar Havana
This happy hour is legendary. Between 5pm and 8pm cocktails are £5 each AND it's 2 for 1. If you do decide to go, tell your boss you're going to be late the next day. We have a feeling your head may be a bit sore.
One for the girls, one for the boys... Beer v Cosmopolitans
The Booze-iers
Our London Guide can help you find some fantastic pubs around town. This week... Camden.
Make mine a cosmopolitan
In honour of the new Sex And The City film weve shashayed and sipped our way round London and to bring you the top places across the capital to get a cosmopolitan with the girls.
The alternative
If beer or cocktails aren't your thing, then head to Gordon's Wine Bar instead. This cave of a bar might be dank and dingy but in summer, spill out into the outside area and get stuck into a good bottle of wine.
Gay Bars and Clubs All the colours of the rainbow
Where do you go Gay?
'Mmmm... those bar and pubs to the right don't impress me' we hear you mutter. Well get writing and tell us about your favorite gay and lesbian bars and clubs. Go on, enlighten us!
Profile Bar
This classy bar/club is where Gadar broadcasts from and has a fantastic atmosphere. Good for a big night out and a few quite drinkies with friend. Definitely one of our favorite places to goo in Soho.
The Kings Arms
Classic old-style gay-London pub for a more 'mature' crowd who tend to be on the hairier side of life. Still we like it lots and would recommend a pint in here after work.
Village Soho Cafe Bar
Fancy a great night out? Go here. It's simple, a great place for the gay community and a relaxed atmosphere. A nice change for the 'meat market' style that can so often be seen in the gay bars of Soho.
Bar Code
They is a gay community outside of Soho and this hidden gem in Clapham is perfect. A great place with fantastic decor and friendly staff. We like it and we hope you will too.
Beer Gardens Saturday's beer in the sunshine
The Flask
This pub is extremely popular with you guys. It has a fantastic beer garden that has heaters when it gets a little chilly. If you are in Highgate, you really should go for a summer pint.
The Queens Head
Described as the 'perfect Summer pub', The Queen's Head in Hammersmith has a lovely beer garden. It also has an extensive wine list and serves very yummy food.
The White Hart
This pub is just of Stoke Newington High street and even if it isn't the smartest place in the area, it definitely has the largest beer garden and friendliest staff.
Princess Of Wales
This pub is awesome in the summer. Everyone sits on the heath with their drinks lapping up the sun. It's very socialable with a great atmosphere - and you're bound to bump into people you know!
